Here at Kornegay Hereford Farm, we love welcoming students to our farm for educational field trips. We are committed to offering tours that combine learning with lots of fun. We offer custom tours during the fall and spring, as well as just for fun field trips visiting with Santa at Christmas and Egg Hunt field trips in the Spring.
We realize that when teachers and kids leave school, they want to have FUN while being EDUCATED! The educational section of our field trip - FarmHER Fun - consists of age-appropriate lessons created in conjunction with the teacher and typically includes a wagon ride, a visit with animals, digging in the dirt, and a special treat at the end of each visit.
We are thrilled to welcome parents (if schools permit). During our field trip days, we are not open to the public, meaning that any guests on our farm have pre-booked an educational tour. We consider this to be extremely important. Safety is top priority at Kornegay Hereford Farm, and not being open to the public on field trip days allows for our total focus on your fun, education, and safety.
Beginning in Spring 2021 we will be offering a picnic pavilion for students to enjoy lunch outdoors.
Most tour days require at least 20 or more paying participants or a minimum amount of $100 for your group. We do offer days that welcome groups of less than 20.
HOME-SCHOOL FAMILIES, we welcome you! You can visit any tour day if you have 3 or more paying participants.
